Volunteer "Spotlight" at St. David's!

St. David's offers many opportunities for members to get involved in service and the life of the church. Serving in Ministry ensures everyone has a place at the table and builds relationships within the community. Below is a list of St. David's ministries that have current needs and volunteer opportunities. Or click here to go to St. David's "Serve" page for a complete list of volunteer opportunities.

We hope you find something that makes your heart sing!

Altar Guild

Altar Guild! We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our Altar Guild. This ministry plays a vital role in preparing the sanctuary for worship, ensuring that all elements are in place for our liturgical services. If you have a passion for service and a desire to support the spiritual life of our community, we invite you to be a part of this rewarding experience. No prior experience is necessary, and training will be provided. Please contact CaroleAnn Padgett, for more details.

NFCC Pantry Collection

Each month NFCC Pantry has a food collection "theme" to help them resupply. St. David's is pleased to be a collection point for these food items. Just drop them in the food baskets in the front hallway beside the mailboxes. Thank you for Being a Better Neighbor.

  • August Collection:

JUICE. Real juice! Very little real juice is donated. When juice is available it is chosen very, very quickly. Apple juice is a perennial favorite for children, but other flavors (even V8 or tomato) are highly desired. We can always use juice boxes, too, but they are donated more often than regular 20 or 32 or 64 oz sizes. Reminder: PLEASE AVOID GLASS BOTTLES. Thank you, St. David’s, for Being a Better Neighbor.

Digital Greeters

Did you know that most Visitors to St. David's visit first online? We are looking for folks to monitor the Youtube chat and welcome people to the livestream. Relationships come first at St. David's and we are called to meet people where they are.

Toolbox Volunteers Needed

The Toolbox Afterschool Program at Mimosa Elementary has been adopted by St. David's and needs volunteers. Do you like working with your hands and building skills? Volunteering at Mimosa Elementary’s Toolbox after school program is for you. Fifth graders learn basic woodworking skills: measuring, cutting, and assembling using basic tools. The students will build a small wooden toolbox (fall) and a birdhouse using cedar wood (spring). This is an after-school program that the kids volunteer for, so they are motivated to learn from it.

We’re looking for 6-10 volunteers, men and women, for Wednesday afternoons, 2:30-4:00 p.m. Or you can volunteer to be a substitute for an occasional Wednesday as needed. There is an instructor who guides the class through the simple projects. The volunteers mentor the kids and help them follow the steps correctly.

Fall Session begins Wednesday, 9/11/24, at 2:00 p.m. for orientation and training. Please contact Loren Conrad, for more information and to volunteer for this ministry. Thank you for being a better neighbor to Mimosa Elementary!
