St David’s and Mimosa Elementary School Celebrate the Completion of the Toolbox Fall Semester

On December 11, students at Mimosa Elementary School finished their toolbox Project and celebrated with a pizza party.

Toolbox is a ministry that teaches 5th graders how to use their hands and develop woodworking skills. They learn to measure a piece of wood, cut it and assemble it into a useful object by drilling holes, installing screws and hammering nails into it. In this Fall semester they made a small wooden toolbox that they took home with them. In the Spring Semester they will build a Bluebird house.

Eighteen 5th graders volunteered for this Fall after-school program which ran from 2:30-4:00 p.m. each Wednesday. The program was supported by 7 volunteers from St David’s.

Our thanks go out to those volunteers who made this Ministry happen. If you would like to participate in it, check out our volunteer opportunities here.
