We are thrilled to announce that St. David’s and Family Promise of North Fulton/DeKalb have signed a lease allowing our property at 985 Old Roswell Rd to be used as a transitional living home for families moving from temporary shelter into permanent homes.
Over the last year, St. David’s has been steadily completing renovations on 985 Old Roswell (next door to Jeffords Hall) to prepare the property for ministry. These projects have included a new roof, structural stability, plumbing renovations and more. These projects have been possible thanks to the good work and good will of our vestry, the generosity of donors, and a ministry grant from The Episcopal Community Foundation for Middle and North Georgia.
With the lease signed, Family Promise will begin a series of renovation projects that prepare the house for its first residents. You are invited to join us on August 15 at 9:00 AM on the sidewalk by the house, as we begin this new phase of renovations with a short breaking-ground ceremony. (Please park at St. David's.)
This new ministry is a great expression of our desire to love like Jesus and inspire others to do the same. We’re happy to be a mission partner with Family Promise, which partners with community and faith-based organizations to end homelessness one family at a time. Family Promise Host Week, September 8-15
In addition to utilizing 986 Old Roswell Road, St. David's also partners with Family Promise to host short term housing several times during the year at the neighboring property, Sinclair House.
We will welcome 3 families to the Sinclair House during the week of September 8-15, where we will share the love of Jesus by providing each family with a comfortable room of their own and nourishing meals. It takes a lot of volunteers to make the week a success, so please check the signup link / QR code below to see where your strengths can be used.
