Bolivia is the poorest and least developed country in South America. Indigenous and rural inhabitants, particularly children, are the groups most affected by extreme poverty. This ministry works to contribute funds to help support the mission – an orphanage (Villa Amistad) and agricultural assistance for rural villagers in Aramasi, Bolivia.

Honduras Mission Team

The Honduras Mission team provides outreach opportunities for youth and adults of St. David’s in participation of mission work in a foreign culture of great need by making trips to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to provide physical and financial support to the LAMB Institute and to support our missionary, Amanda Scott, at LAMB.

North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC)

Located on Elkins Road, NFCC operates a thrift shop, which provides goods at bargain prices to the community AND provides support for the many services of the Charities—a food bank, emergency funds, education in language, financial management, and parenting, and much more for those among us in need. St. David’s supports NFCC by collection of goods, with volunteer hours, and in contributing $10,000 annually to the NFCC special fund used primarily to help families in medical emergencies or in need because of chronic medical conditions.

Path to Shine

Path to Shine® is an after school program that provides mentoring and tutoring support for at-risk elementary school students. With one mentor for every two children, Path to Shine® seeks to help students graduate elementary school, while learning to make productive life choices that can lead to high school graduation.

Six Mercies

This is a lay based ministry that helps those who come to the church asking for assistance. Volunteers are in the library on Monday and Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm to greet and interview those who come for assistance.

St. Francis Guild

The St. Francis Guild provides a hot lunch to day-laborers waiting for work. It is a soup kitchen on wheels as the volunteer team cooks in our Jeffords Hall kitchen and takes the meal to areas where men are waiting for work.

Unidad

The Unidad ministry focuses on creating opportunities for greater unity between members of our local Hispanic community and the at-large St. David’s community and parishioners. Over fifty (50) Volunteer position opportunities are necessary to support program activities, assistance is always needed in ESL Training, Tutoring/Mentoring, and Meal Preparation.

United Thank Offering

The United Thank Offering is a ministry of the Episcopal Church. Through UTO, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving thanks to God. All offerings are used to support grants for ministries at home and overseas as an outreach of the Episcopal Church.
