Tuesday September 18 at 6:00 p.m. As a nation, we continue to struggle with preventing gun violence and as people of faith we struggle with understanding what role we may or may not have in addressing it as well. This month’s Common Purpose event will consider what a diverse group of Christian Leaders say in response to the question “What are people of faith called to do about gun violence?” We will look at how The Episcopal Church has responded over the years, and we will invite small group discussion over what we feel we might be called to do. As usual, we will start at 6:00 with a potluck shared meal to help us get to know each other and to establish an environment of respect and Christian love. The presentation led by Rev. Michelle Ortiz will follow from 6:45 – 7:30, and then small group discussion from 7:30 – 8:00. Please direct any questions about the event including the need for childcare to CommonPurpose@StDavidChurch.org. Everyone is encouraged to join us as we seek to live out our baptismal covenants together.
