The purpose of the Green Guild is to promote Christian “Stewardship of Creation” (Environment).

Here are some updates from the Green Guild:

  • Local Farmer’s Markets
    1. Summer is a great time of year to buy fresh, locally grown produce. Locally grown produce usually tastes better and is much better on the environment since it does not have to be shipped for hundreds of miles.
    2. Below are some of the local Farmer’s Markets that I am aware of. If you know of others, please let us know.
    • Riverside Farmer’s Market, every Saturday from 8-12noon. Now being held at Roswell City Hall.
    • City of Johns Creek Farmer’s Market, every Saturday 8:30-12:30. Newtown Park, Johns Creek.
    • Alpharetta Farmer’s Market, every Saturday 8-12:30. Downtown Alpharetta next to City Hall.
  • Buy Green Energy
    • If you are a Georgia Power customer, you can buy clean energy. Georgia Power offers two levels:
      1. For $3.50/month/100 kWh, Georgia Power will deliver Green-e Energy® certified renewable energy that is generated entirely from biomass resources.
      2. For $5.00/month/100 kWh, Georgia Power will deliver Green-e Energy® certified renewable energy that contains a mix of at least 50% solar energy.
