We will recognize that The Book of Common Prayer is a living document in two ways. First, although its core has remained the same since 1549, it has been revised repeatedly in response to the changing world. And secondly, rather than being a sterile relic, this book is to be used, to be practiced and practiced joyfully, in the worship services of Episcopal and Anglican congregations in every corner of the world, every day of the week.
