Childcare is offered from 8:45 a.m. until the end of the 11:15 a.m. church service for infants through PreK/4 year olds.
The nursery caregivers are dedicated to:
- Providing a safe, clean and trusting environment for the children of St. David’s. A place for our youngest parishioners to play, rest and be loved.
- Providing the children of St. David’s with the love and care necessary for a happy stay in the nursery.
- Providing the parents the opportunity to worship knowing their children are in good hands.
Available Nurseries for Infants – up to 24 months:
9:00 a.m. & 11:15 a.m. services: During the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services in the Infant and Toddler Rooms, we have a regular group of volunteers (“Lead” caregivers) to make the nurseries as familiar and comfortable as possible for our babies (and their parents). The other caregivers are a combination of adult and youth volunteers who serve on a rotational basis. At a minimum, all of our Lead caregivers are CPR certified. Plus, all of our adult volunteers have been xenical order online canada trained on Safeguarding God’s Children, which is a diocesan sponsored training program that teaches a code of conduct for the protection of children and youth.
Sunday School: During Sunday School in the Infant and Toddler Rooms, we have an extra- special group of volunteers who have been committed to this ministry for up to 30 years!!! Doris Paul (30 years), Jan & Tim Georges (25 years), Joanie & George Rhodes (23 years) and Kaye & Toby Davis (23 years) are ready with a smile and open arms every Sunday that Sunday School is offered. They are now taking care of babies who are the children of babies they have taken care of in the nursery at St. David’s! There is always someone in the room during Sunday School who is CPR certified, and has been trained on Safeguarding God’s Children, which is a diocesan sponsored training program that teaches a code of conduct for the protection of children and youth.
Available Nurseries for 2 – PreK/4 year olds:
9:00 a.m. service & Sunday School: During the 9:00 a.m. service and Sunday School, there are preschool rooms designated for the Two, Three, and Four year olds. We rely on the parents of children ages two through PreK/4 to care for these children during the 9:00 a.m. service on a rotating basis. Schedules are e-mailed to parishioners, and parents are asked to swap with another family if they have been scheduled at an inconvenient time. During the 11:15 a.m. service, all children are together for childcare in the Infant and Toddler rooms. The Preschool classrooms are not used for nursery care during the 11:15 a.m. service.

We are blessed by the ministry of adult volunteers who faithfully keep the infant and toddler nurseries on a rotating basis during the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services. If you feel called to serve this important and rewarding ministry, please contact Sarah McVay at firstname.lastname@example.org or 678.522.4287. This commitment may be as great as serving once a month or as little as serving on the 5th Sunday of the month.
Likewise, we have youth caregivers who minister to our infants and toddlers on Sunday mornings, but we are always looking for more young people interested in spending time playing with little ones! All youth who are 12 years old and who love children are encouraged to consider joining the nursery ministry.
